What did they watch?

In my last post, I gave a sample of the letters that Joe and Cate wrote each other when their friendship began. Both pen pals asked what the other watched on television. The letters are dated in late 1979, so here is a list of shows that ranked the highest watched. Cincinnatiimedia.com had this list of top shows. I think they would watch these shows because Cate is from Ohio so this is what showed in her area. While these are the top shows from Cincinnatti they aren't necessarily the national high rated shows. I was about the age the two pen pals are at that time and I remember these shows.


The most popular show on television according to rankings was "Laverne and Shirley."

Other popular shows were Three's Company, Taxi, 60 Minutes.
