Keith Hernandez on TV
In 1992, Seinfield was becoming a top sitcom on Thursday nights. NBC started to have faith in the show that hadn't quite found it's audience. This allowed for best stars and a two part episode.
The character of Elaine has a new boyfriend. It’s the same guy that Jerry likes to hang around with. This guy, “The Boyfriend” was played by Keith Hernandez.
Why are two New Yorkers so happy to have Keith Hernandez in their lives? Hernandez was on the 1986 Mets.
Hernandez was born in October 20, 1953. His baseball career would begin in San Bruno California.
Hernandez would play for the National League his whole career. A career that would begin on August 30, 1974. He would become a five time All-Star. He played in two World Series.
Interesting fact: Between the years 1976 through 1990, Hernandez made is a point to have a number that ended in a 7. He was number 17 when he played first base for the Mets.
His last game for major league baseball was July 24, 1990.
In 1986, Hernandez would have a .310 batting average. He becomes the first team captain in Mets history. Hernandez would become a calm family-friendly face for the Mets on tv for this team. He gave solid interviews and became a person that anyone could like.

While researching this blog, I didn't find any scandal or arrest record. Keith Hernandez is that kind of star athlete that people like because he was good at what he did and stayed real the whole time.
