He's not Crazy Eddie-Who is he?

Crazy Eddie Antar passed away in September and I wrote about  a stereo I got at Crazy Eddies last week.  I linked a few commercials to see.
Who was that guy in the commercials? It wasn’t Crazy Eddie himself. For all the fame and name recognition, I wouldn't know the real Crazy Eddie if I saw him.
But the spokesman...
The spokesman was a guy named Jerry Carroll. He was a radio deejay at WPIX-FM in New York. He came up with the “Insaaaane” line. When Eddie Antar heard Carroll’s way of speaking, he hired Carroll right away. The big hook that everyone knew was made up by the spokesman.
Carroll did every commercial with the blue suit and blue turtleneck. At Christmas, he wore a Santa suit.
Crazy Eddies was in trouble in 1986 and by 1989, they closed.

What happened to Jerry Carroll?
He went on to do voice-over work in commercials for Sony, Showtime, and ST. John’s University. He started an advertising company with his wife, Andrea called East Coast Media. I can’t link to it because there are East Coast Medias in New Jersey and Long Island. I don’t know if they are related or separate.
His company did spots for 6th Ave. Electronics and Neils Auto Group.
I read a few articles to find something really scandalous for the blog. No. It seems Jerry Carroll had his moment in the sun and is OK with that being in the past. He has turned down chances to do the Crazy Eddy character at parties and comic gags. The man seems to have a successful business, a happy marriage and normal life.
He doesn’t have his own Wikipedia page.

I think he's smart. Here's a clip from the heyday and that's what I want to remember and look up.
