You Must Remember Jayne Mansfield

I have recommended  the You Must Remember This podcast for years. youmustrememberthispodcast.com

This past week was the story of Jayne Mansfield. I did a blog post on her back on January 27, 2015. It's ok to say it, my blogs have gotten so much better since then. 

This week's podcast was well done from a technical standpoint. The sound was good. The impressions of people were there, but not overdone. 

My blog from January 27, 2015, noted that I was surprised that Mansfield wasn't a cheap Marilyn Monroe imitator. Mansfield had a genius IQ. Perhaps it was America that pigeonholed her and she never rose the above the image to meet her potential. 

The podcast took a different angle, in that Mansfield thought she was smart enough to use the Hollywood monster. She would control the sex appeal to her use, not old studio bosses whims.  She would tame the Hollywood Monster and control it as she saw. That Hollywood Monster chewed her up and left her battered on the side of the road.
