Molotov Shared a Cocktail

For the bast few weeks, I've been sharing news of 1986. Here was a big story. 

Vyacheslav Molotov died November 8, 1986. 

In Russian history, the name Molotov means something. To America, he was the inventor of the Molotov cocktail. What is a Molotov cocktail? A person fills a breakable glass bottle with gasoline and motor oil. A cloth soaked in alcohol is tied to the top of the bottle then set on fire and then it's thrown. The glass breaks, the fire from the rag lights the gasoline and it explodes. 

Molotov was born March 9, 1890. He would fight in the Spanish Civil War and rise through the Russian Government. A big achievement was the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the Soviet-Nazi non aggression pact. It kept Russia out of war for a while but it also emboldened Hitler to attack Poland without fear of a Soviet response. Because he rose under the time of Stalin,he would criticize all those leaders that followed Stalin. This took him out of favor with the Communist leadership. Khrushchev burned Molotovs records to minimize his accomplishments. (Ironic action considering) 

Molotov would suffer several heart attacks before finally succumbing in 1986.
