Yet another Bruce Springsteen book
I’m reviewing another Bruce Springsteen book on Goodreads by Brian Hiatt. The book is called Bruce Springsteen-The Stories Behind the Songs. I read Springsteen’s autobiography and didn’t think there would much more to say somehow there was more to say. This book has an analysis of each song. We get inspirations for songs, similar songs and performers on each song.
I thought I had read it all. I didn’t think there was anything else. Turns out, there are stories that got forgotten or overlooked. There were songs that Springsteen didn’t think much of, but this author does. There is Brendan O’Brien’s viewpoint.
This author is a fan of Springsteen and it shows in those non-E Street band songs.
I’m currently writing a biography of a little known artist and I think information is out there. What can I do that anyone with time on the web can’t? That is the job or responsibility of the author or writer. This book showed me that there is more than one way to see this same singer songwriter. You think “how can so many people write about one guy? Facts are facts.” The point is to find the little facts or view that someone forgot.
Thank you Brian Hiatt for showing a different view to a singer that I read a lot of books about.
