Journaling-Writing-Sorting Ideas

I’ve read that writers keep a journal in addition the social media promotion, stories or free-lancing work. It’s a lot of writing. I don’t keep a journal because the ideas I get go into story ideas or these posts. When Steve Martin wrote a movie, Johnny Carson advised him, “use it all.” So Martins’ movie had roller skating, old jokes and magic. He had romance and comedy. He put all his material in. I have scraps of notebooks and folders and folders of ideas and bits. There are bits of stories on the computer. 

I’m so happy about the invention of the IPad. I don’t have to write in pen and type it on the big computer later. I can type/write at lunch, while watching television, waiting for appointments. The ideas are everywhere and I will put something down whenever I can.
