Mix Tape's History Remix

Ok Mike Eder What do I Need to Know About Elvis' Music?

I’ve read several books about Elvis Presley and I still like to read new books. When I saw Elvis Music FAQ-All That's Left to Know about the King's Recorded Works. There isn’t much new territory here, actually it’s vague in areas of Presley’s life. The movies had plenty of music but there are times where we don't get into every song. Since this book wanted to focus just on recordings, it’s understandable, but sometimes the facets of life merge and it didn’t here. How did songs get discovered? We get all the news on some big hits not the minor ones.

There is some talk of bootlegs and concert set lists that are detailed. I was under the impression that most of his concert set list was the same from 1973 to 1977. The author points out times that Presley did differing set lists and changed up songs.

For a non-fan, there is some interesting views to make a fan of someone. For the already fan, there’s not much new ground, but it’s a solid fun read.

Check it out when you get the chance.
