Finding Time to Write Faster when I don't
Micheal Persaud has a book about finding time to write. I bought it looking for time management ideas. There are articles and blogs all over the web in that topic as well.
It’s not easy to write when there is life, and full time work to do. A lot of my author friends have families. They say, “Can’t write if you can’t read other books and articles.”
I’ll admit it when no one else will, television. I’ve seen episodes of Big Bang Theory dozens of times and will stop to watch certain episodes again. Social media is needed for marketing, but it is easy to get caught up in someone’s other posts.
Starting is the tough part. Once many of us start and get going, the words come out. The thoughts that we had earlier in the day now come out. They don’t all make sense. They say you just need to clear 15 minutes a day and the words put down will add up. I can’t stop at 15 minutes. I need an hour block at least. If I can’t get my hour, I won’t start. It such a lazy sounding way of not writing.
This is what I mean.
I started this blog post during a commercial and I ignored the show I was watching to keep writing. It’s been half hour now. Fifteen minutes will never be enough. Time.
